Rihanna. Are we getting that album now?
For a while now, fans and supporters of Rihanna were wondering if they were ever going to get to hear the new ‘ANTi’ album. And lucky for them, it may be coming sooner than expected. So we hope.
On Monday, Rihanna posted a photo of herself on Twitter, wearing $9,000 Dolce & Gabanna headphones (above), with the caption reading: “listening to ANTI”; setting the social media into an uproar of excitement.
According to Billboard, sources tell that her ‘ANTi’ album will finally arrive this week, likely as a surprise release before Friday. (Full details via Billboard). Despite all of the confusion with the album and whether it'll be released this week or if it will ever be released. Rihanna dropped the first single ‘Work’ featuring Drake, earlier today.
‘Work’ is now the first single off the album, does that mean her previously released songs ‘FourFiveSeconds’, ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ and ‘American Oxygen’ will not appear on the album? The seductive new record sees Rihanna bring tropical island vibes to the Boi-1da production, that's already sitting at #1 on iTunes.
Rihanna and Drake's chemistry in their music is undeniable, as ‘Work’ marks the third collaboration between them, firstly being ‘What's My Name’ in 2010 then following up with ‘Take Care’ in 2012.
Rumour has it that the video to ‘Work’ has already been shot in Los Angeles earlier this month and will be premiered in the next two weeks.
Rihanna will kick off the North American leg of her ‘ANTI World Tour’ with Travis Scott on February 29, and hopefully before then we can get the highly anticipated new album. I think we've been teased long enough.
