Calvin Harris, J. Cole, Chase & Status and More Announced to Perform at Wireless Festival

Festival season is in full limbo and Wireless Festival are the latest in revealing their much anticipated line-up.

The music festival held over a 3-day period at London's Finsbury Park had festival goers pumped after a fake line-up was released with Drake, Rihanna, Stormzy, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj over the weekend. Wireless did confirm that the line-up was indeed fake and they'll be releasing the real line-up this week.

Well today at 9am, Wireless Festival took to their official social media accounts to announce the real line-up and confirmed acts fitted for the bill. Festival goers were less than impressed as they were disappointed about the “downgrade” from last years artists (Drake, Major Lazer, Avicii, Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, David Guetta) to this years one. Questioning why Geko, Lady Leshurr and Jess Glynne to name a few were set to perform?

Day one of the music festival Calvin Harris and The 1975 will co-headline the main stage, with Bryson Tiller and Miguel among other artists taking to the different stages to perform.

Electronic music duo Chase & Status who have collaborated with major artists such as Rihanna and Tinie Tempah will headline Saturday's 11th annual festival along with rapper J. Cole. Future, Craig David, Krept & Konan will also perform as well as chart-topping British group WSTRN.

Grime is set to take over Sunday as Boy Better Know will close the third and final day on the main stage. Joining BBK on stage is Norwegian DJ and record producer Kygo, 19-year-old Dutch DJ and composer, Martin Garrix will also bless festival goers with his set. Other Grime/UK rap artists Newham Generals and Section Boyz will also perform.

Wireless will announce many more others that will perform at the 3-day festival presented by Live Nation. Check out the full line-up here >>>

New Video: Janet Jackson - No Sleeep ft. J. Cole

A stunning Janet Jackson makes her long-awaited return to our screens with the release of her new video for ‘No Sleeep’.

Janet Jackson stays true to her sound in ‘No Sleeep’. The single comes shortly after Janet was honoured at the 2015 BET Awards and off the back of the announcement of her comeback world tour ‘Unbreakable’.

Switching things up on the lead single off her new album, Janet features J. Cole on the album version of ‘No Sleeep’ and will appear on her first studio album in seven years. The new untitled album will follow up from Janet's 2008 release ‘Discipline’.

J. Cole took to his Twitter account on Thursday to express his gratitude to Janet Jackson for featuring him on her new single. Stating that it was a "high honor" when Janet came through to his Los Angeles show during the third leg of Forest Hills Drive Tour.

Janet and J. Cole show their undeniable musical chemistry through ‘No Sleeep’ as well as in the video. We can only hope for more collaborations in the future...

Props to J. Cole for being so smooth on the record, watch the new video to ‘No Sleeep’ below.

New Video: J. Cole - G.O.M.D.

Visually capturing the lyrics of one of his most well-received songs ‘G.O.M.D.’, off his new album ‘2014 Forest Hills Drive’, J. Cole takes us on a journey in the new video, where he plays the role of a rebellious house slave.

The new video directed by Lawrence Lamont brings a relevance to the bars and rhymes Cole is rapping about in ‘G.O.M.D.’.

In this video, J. Cole is seen as the house slave where at first he is working for the white people, and answering to their needs and doing what they want for him to do. Whilst doing this, Cole is not getting the respect or the response he is looking for, from his own people (the black people in the video). As the video goes on, J. Cole is realizing his wrongdoings and then tries to revert back and connect with his people, eventually slyly getting hold of the keys off his master, as well as of all the weapons, to give and to help his people; where they take control and the power is in their hands.

Same with the song, in the first verse J. Cole's rapping about him going down the mainstream route of music, then later realizing by the second verse that this is not what he's supposed to be doing, but rather for him to send meaning and truth through his music and connecting with his people. By verse three - "the make up", he has rightfully done so, and gone back to his roots and made meaningful music rather than making music to please the charts and the mainstream scene.

Sometimes, it's not everything that needs an explanation, but just for people to forcefully open up their minds to what is put in front of them - which J. Cole has done exceptionally well with this new video.

Nicely done J. Cole. Together with Lawrence Lamont - creative geniuses. Watch it all unravel in the 5-minute-cinematic clip below.

That was my breakdown on the whole song and video. Think similar or different? Hit me up on Twitter: @Mobolaji_ and let me know your thoughts.

New Music: J. Cole - Let Nas Down (Remix) ft. Nas #MadeNasProud

It was a big day for J. Cole over the weekend on Twitter - his idol Nas dropped the remix to his track "Let Nas Down", off his album Born Sinner.

The remix came as a shock to everyone including J. Cole where he tweeted "Today is special. Full circle moment. @nas it's on you" and even the hash tag "#MadeNasProud" ended up trending on Twitter.

In the remix Nas let J. Cole know that he ain't mad at him and rapped about his struggle in the rap game coming up, and Nas even gives Jay-Z a shout out in the song. It's so good to see a legend humbly welcoming a new legend in the game.

"Long live the idols, may they never be your rivals!"

New Music: J. Cole - Maine on Fire

Okay, so I'm slowly falling in love with J.Cole's music. Through the years, I haven't exactly been his biggest fan - but he's a pretty dope artist if I must say.

Cole dropped a new track for Funkmaster Flex's mixtape - 'Who You Mad At? Me Or Yourself?', which features tracks from Wale, A$AP Rocky, Cam'ron and Lil Wayne, Mac Miller and more.

J.Cole self-produced track recorded a year and a half ago and sampled a Raphael Saadiq track. Listen below! J.Cole's sophomore album 'Born Sinner' drops June 25.

New Video: J. Cole - Power Trip ft. Miguel

Power Trip - Power Collaboration! J.Cole and Miguel make sweeeeeet music together!
This song is constantly on repeat and I'm happy there's a video to accompany it. 'Power Trip' will appear on J.Cole's new album 'Born Sinner' featuring singer - Miguel.

J.Cole opens up a bit more in this dark and chilling video, as he raps about a female who's house he's parked outside as her boyfriend - singer Miguel gets ready to go out. As J.Cole and his friend drives through the town with wood and plastic bags on the rooftop of the car, a police officer pulls them over as they're driving on the highway - and then lets them go after he just finds a shovel in the boot of the car. Furthermore, they continue their journey into the woods - where we see that J.Cole has carried out a murder and unloads a body from the roof of the car.

But whose body is it? Watch as the whole video to this cold-blooded murder unfolds below.
P.S. J.Cole took it to his Twitter page to let us know that NO R&B singers were harmed during the making of the video!

J.Cole will also release his sophomore album 'Born Sinner' on June 25th - which he also took to his Twitter page to announce for his loyal fans! Well, that album is sure to be a good one!

New Music: J. Cole - Power Trip ft. Miguel

Just a couple of days after releasing his 'Truly Yours' mixtape, J.Cole comes with this new single 'Power Trip' featuring Miguel off his sophomore album 'Born Sinner'.

The 'Born Sinner' album was originally due January 28 but is awaiting new release date. The first single released off 'Born Sinner', 'Miss America' was a huge hit on the charts and a personal fav of mine.

It's good to see both J.Cole and Miguel back on a track together, as they collaborated on Miguel's 2010 single 'All I Want Is You'.

'Power Trip' is about to storm the charts.

Flicks: Studio Sessions

This month of October is popping! So far, so good!! A lot of artists including Rihanna, Frank Ocean, Alicia Keys and even Gwen Stefani have hit up their local studios to either put the finish touchings to their upcoming albums or singles that they're about to put out. Or even starting a new album!

Frank Ocean has been one of the main people that have hit up the studio a lot this month.
Check out some studio session pics from different artists/producers below.

MAGIC: Frank Ocean, Pharrell Williams & Jay-Z all took time out of their busy schedules to hit up the studio and even take a picture. With these three in the studio, magic is bound to happen. Can't wait!

BEST OF FRIENDS: Despite all the mess and drama happening on the set of American Idol auditions, Mariah Carey stopped by the studio to work with long-time friend and producer The Dream.

UNAPOLOGETIC: Rihanna hits up the studio in LA adding the finishing touches to her album "Unapologetic" - out 19th November. It was even rumoured that Rihanna even sent raunchy pics to Chris Brown during one of the sessions. (*sigh). But above it all, Rihanna's swag is crazy!!!

No Doubt just released their brand new album "Push & Shove" and Gwen Stefani is already back in the studio. The singer was spotted in LA heading to a studio in Burbank.

"Wonder what would happen if u put Luda & M.I.A. In the studio. Hhhmmmmm." is what M.I.A. captioned when she put up this pic of herself and rapper Ludacris in the studio via her instagram.
Well, M.I.A. we'll find out when you and Ludacris put something out for us to hear!!

BEST IN THE BUSINESS: As I said above, Frank Ocean is one of the many people that have hit up the studio a lot this month. And most recently, he met up with producer NO I.D. and rapper J.Cole for a studio session. Frank Ocean just seems to be the go-to-go for hot songs this season, and I must say - his songs and songwriting skills are surely incredible. So I see why not!
