Ella Mai: ‘Time’ EP + ‘She Don't’ Video ft. Ty Dolla $ign

DJ Mustard has added a new artist to his ‘10 Summers’ records roster, and she goes by the name Ella Mai. The announcement of the new signee came in January via OVO Sound Radio and social media, where Ella Mai took to her Instagram account thanking the producer for taking a chance on her.

Ella Mai a London-based singer, dropped her EP ‘Time’ just over a week ago, and it is already shaping her 2016 to be stupendous. ‘Switch Sider’ and ‘Don't Want You’ are stand out tracks on the new body of work, and has sounds similar to what's currently coming out of LA. The most notable record is her first single ‘She Don't’ and is accompanied by DJ Mustard affiliate, Ty Dolla $ign. 

Mai's melodic vocals over DJ Mustard's R&B and trap infused production is pure bliss, to the ears of listeners. The EP compiles of break up records and self confidence.

Introducing Mi'das + Release of New EP ‘Stronger’

Mike Davies who performs under the name Mi'das has presently gained buzz for his music described as "timeless, but discernibly of its time". His soulful pop music infused with his trademark vocal and guitar playing has seen Mi'das busking the streets to performing with artists such as Jessie J, Rita Ora, Labrinth and Jamie Cullum to mention. As well as having performed in front of royalty: Prince William, Taylor Swift and a legends in music - Bon Jovi.

The release of ‘Stronger’ is the third and final record from the series of the ‘Story So Far’ EPs. ‘Stronger’. Detailing his journey from when he first started to where he's at now, Mi'das shows not only is he an great singer, but also a great songwriter, as the lyrical content in his EPs ‘Grow’, ‘Glow’ and ‘Stronger’ have proved so. 

Each with their own theme, Mi'das gives his listeners the chance to glimpse at the path that has lead him to this point.

Double S Announces EP, Reveals New Solo Single ‘Do It Like Me’

London-born MC Double S has announced the release of his first solo EP, ‘Flow Farda’, since his debut in 2008, giving his fans what they've been after for years and re-establishing himself as a prominent solo musician in the grime scene.

The EP's lead track, ‘Do It Like Me’, is a pure banger; combining classic grime and eski sounds with fresh new production styles, while his vocal performance lives up to the EP's moniker of ‘Flow Farda’.

Monique Releases Debut EP ‘The Gift’

Following on from the success of her well-received comeback single ‘The Gift’, Birmingham's very own singer, songwriter and producer Monique is proud to release her brand new debut EP of the same name ‘The Gift’.

Inspired by her pregnancy and the joy of embracing motherhood, which birthed its title track ‘The Gift’, Monique's new 5-track EP, in her own words, "explores the theme of time and moments in a world that moves so fast that we rarely stand in the present. There are moments that bring us face to face with ourselves and others that are willing us to take a look in the mirror. To stop and consider our course of just to simply enjoy, be thankful and content."

Hoping to leave listeners with overriding questions, "what would happen if we chose to live in the present?", "what if we dared to live without fear of  tomorrow?", "what would happen if we gave our all today?", this record is more than a creative reflection of where Monique is as an artist in 2015, it is a statement of her personal journey to self acceptance, and a call for fans and critics to stand in the present with her, even if for the eighteen minutes, it takes to listen to ‘The Gift’.

Singer/songwriter ALA.NI releases her debut EP ‘YOU & I: Spring’ today alongside the video for her latest single ‘Ol' Fashioned Kiss’.

Full of tales of enchanted and unfulfilled love, the power of ALA.NI’s voice transports you to distant places, washing nostalgia over the listener and carrying you away with the music. The accompanying video was shot and directed by ALA.NI herself and really adds to the low-fun-polished nature of her sound.

Currently signed to Atlantic Records, Monét features her label mate Ty Dolla $ign on ‘Made In China’, and B.’o.B on her new project, that sees her portray her talents and her strong R&B vocals. 

Not a name known to many as of yet, the Sacramento hailing singer/songwriter is about to leave her mark and will have her name on a lot of people's lips once ‘Nightmares & Lullabies – Act 1’ has made its rounds.

Introducing: Ella On The Run + Her New Single ‘War of Words’ & Announces Debut EP

Nowadays it's hard to come by raw talent, as everyone practically sounds the same or is following the trend. Stepping into her own lane entirely is a fresh new face, sound and name for us to all take in - Ella On The Run.

Hailing from London, the alternative-pop singer-songwriter is set to release her new single ‘War of Words’, alongside her debut EP of the same name in November.

Ella's debut single ‘Golden Boys’ was placed onto Glastonbury's long list for emerging artists in 2014. In October 2014, she was filmed and interviewed by the BBC who visited her on the set of her single ‘War of Words’ about age restrictions on music videos.

Opening up ‘War of Words’ with a smooth bass riff, Ella's laid back vocals on the well structured single produced b Matthew Bang has already caused a stir in the blogosphere and live circuit, appearing in various unsigned guide playlists including the Best of British unsigned podcast.

‘War of Words’ serves as the lead single off Ella's ‘War of Words’ debut EP out next month. Ella is on my 'One2Watch' list for 2015, and I'm sure she'll be on yours by the time her EP comes outs.

Bobby Shmurda's ‘Shmurda She Wrote’ EP Cover, Tracklisting Unveiled

‘Hot N*gga’ and man of the moment - Bobby Shmurda is keeping his momentum going with the announcement of his new EP ‘Shmurda She Wrote’. 

The New Yorker who rose to fame this summer with his street hit ‘Hot N*gga’ and the infectious dance; the "shmoney dance" that accompanied it, saw the likes of Beyoncé, Chris Brown and even the USA male basketball team do the dance after they took home gold at the FIBA World Cup last month. 

The success of the record lead Bobby Shmurda into the hands of Epic Records, where he later inked a deal with them. His highly anticipated debut EP will feature ‘Hot N*gga’ as well as his follow up track ‘Bobby Bitch’, and three new songs.

I think a few people were left questioning Saeon's vocal ability after she released her single ‘Boogie Down’ featuring Wizkid. Proving that she's more than talented - Saeon releases her brand new EP ‘I Am Saeon’ which not only shows off that she can actually sing, but also her diversity on the 4-track-EP.

Saeon gives 2 new tracks including her own version of Sevyn Streeter's ‘It Won't Stop’, which she calls her "African cover" and does a tremendous job implementing Yoruba in the R&B ballad, as well as a new one ‘Friends With Benefits’. The EP sees her previously released tracks ‘Awada Erekere’ and her most recent ‘Dogado’ also make up the EP, and sees production from Sarz, Mr Chidoo and GospelOnTheBeatz.

Speaking on her body of work, Saeon said: "I am extremely excited about this project, I AM SAEON encompasses what and who I truly am. I hope many can relate to me through this body of work." She went on to say "I had an amazing time working with OF A KIND Creatives in order to tell a story through each photo and am delighted to present them to you."

‘I Am Saeon - The EP’ is accompanied with a special artistic beauty photo set photographed by TCD with creative direction by OF A KIND Creatives (below). Saeon will follow up with releasing visuals for all songs off the EP, as well as a lyric video for ‘Dogado’.

New Talent: Becky, Releases Debut EP ‘Control’ and It's A Good One!

2013 saw the release of Becky's single ‘Angel’ featuring L.A.X, and left people wondering if they'd hear more music from her - putting their worries and wonders to bed, Becky has revealed her latest project; her debut EP ‘Control’, and it is a commendable piece of work.

The vocal prowess kicked off September with four Afro-pop tracks on the project that sees a blend of the English and Yoruba language, with a hint of Nigerian pidgin.

Originally from Abuja - Nigeria, UK based Becky is a notable artist of many talents; from being a singer/songwriter to a guitarist and a dancer, Becky's body of work speaks for itself, and has already been punned as the "black Jhené Aiko" by friends.

Not shying away from her ability to sing, Becky teams up with producers Studio Magic, Maffy and D Alfred to help bring her musical visions to life. Incorporating Afrobeats with Pop and her strong vocals, Becky successfully creates a full-length project of songs that have it's own vibe to it and will have one dancing from the opening track. 

The EP may take a while to sink in as it has done for me, but I couldn't take away from the fact that Becky's first EP is a good one.

Having been vocally compared to artists such as Chris Brown and Trey Songz, British R&B singer/songwriter Abel Miller has unveiled his latest project which he calls his best work to date, his brand new EP entitled ‘A Million’.

Miller has spent months in the studio recording and writing for ‘A Million’ and perfecting each song on the 5-track-EP. 

Abel Miller's EP comes at perfect timing for the summer days and nights, with songs like ‘Beautiful’ - an upbeat number that sets the mood for a summers day and ‘Lights Out’ and ‘Riding For Me’ - two more subtle and calmer songs to round up the summer nights.

‘A Million’ is the first release from Miller since his last EP ‘Make You Love Me’ released over a year ago.

Abel's last single ‘No Gentleman’ was playlisted on BBC 1Xtra with support across Capital Xtra and all specialist stations across the UK.

Little Simz Unveils Highly Anticipated Debut EP ‘E.D.G.E’

Small in stature, but big in bars! Little Simz has unveiled her highly anticipated debut EP ‘E.D.G.E’, and it sounds good!

The EP, an acronym for Every Day Gets Easier, follows the release of her fourth mixtape Blank Canvas, which was premiered on Jay Z's Life+Times in September 2013. 

Simz has already released a few tracks off the EP, with ‘Mandarin Oranges Part 2’ premiered during her BBC Radio 1 Maida Vale session, being the first. Making her one of the first unsigned rapper to do a BBC Radio 1 Maida Vale session before releasing an official single.

The 20-year-old North London rapper went on to releasing ‘Bars Simzson’, ‘Enter The Void’ and ‘The Hamptons’ as well as her newest release ‘Quest Luv’ featuring her fellow SPACE AGE member - Tilla.

Little Simz is breaking all boundaries and is bringing the heat with her bars, keeping fans and other rappers on their tippy-toes.

‘E.D.G.E’ sees production from the likes of Sango, Iman Omari, Jakwob, Balistiq, High Frequency, El Blanco Nino and OTG as well as keeping in the family, the EP features guests vocals from her SPACE AGE collective Josh Acre, Tilla and Chuck20.

All About She Unveil Debut EP ‘Go Slow’, featuring Gita and Jacob Banks

All About She are the sound of the Summer!! And I am excited for the Summer now!

2013 saw All About She's debut with their successful hit single ‘Higher’, which reached No.5 in the UK Dance Charts, No.20 in the Official UK Charts, and has accumulated over 1 million YouTube views. Now in 2014 - the trio are back with their debut EP ‘Go Slow’.

All About She gave us an old school '98 Garage sound on their previously released track ‘Remedy’, as well as a more upbeat head bopping, gun finger raving tune ‘Like That’ featuring US lyricist Gita, and ‘C'est Moi’ a more chilled nu-disco number that sees front gal Vanya own the song with her soulful vocals.

Hailing from London, the trio met when James Tadgell and John Clare started producing for Vanya Taylor’s solo work. Clare and Tadgell were initially producing for Taylor, who was recording as a solo artist; but their collective passion for music inspired them to create something daring and original together. Joining forces allowed them to bring a striking dimension to the self-professed ‘electro-soul’ infused sounds they create and All About She’s distinctive style resulted in a management deal with Disturbing London. While James and John provide the excellent Garage-led, electro-soul beats with a house twist, Vanya turns those beats into anthems, complimenting the production of each track with her flawless vocals.

Further to signing with Disturbing London Records/Atlantic Records, All About She are set for another year of success, releasing their debut EP and performing at this summer's Wireless Festival. The E marks the trio's return to the scene, and the return of UK Garage fuelled vibes in our conscience.

G FrSh: Unveils New Track ‘Falling High’ and Announces New EP ‘Alfie’

Premiered by Mista Jam on BBC Radio 1Xtra and i-D Magazine online, G FrSh's newest track ‘Falling High’ is certain to have you fall in love with him all over again. ‘Falling High’ follows the success of his ‘Legoman II’ mixtape back in 2013.

Accompanying ‘Falling High’ comes the announcement of his forthcoming and highly anticipated EP, ‘Alfie’, set for release this Spring.

Aside from his lyrical ability, G FrSh who hails from South London is also very educated - he graduated from Dulwich College where he won a scholarship, then went on to studying economics at UCL and is one of the most respected rappers in the UK hip-hop scene since he began making waves in 2004.
