New Video: Sevyn Streeter - nEXT (Remix) ft. Kid Ink

Clearly inspired by Mara Brock Ali's hit TV series on BET - ‘Being Mary Jane’, Sevyn Streeter gives us a Mary Jane Paul-esque music video to the remix of her song, ‘nEXT’.

Directed by Derek Blanks, the video to ‘nEXT’ takes on the TV series ‘Being Mary Jane’ with sticky notes all over the house, a bath tub scene with Sevyn Streeter covered in sticky notes and Sevyn playing the role of an entertainment news reporter (somewhat like the character Mary Jane Paul originally played by Gabrielle Union). There's even a scene where the ex-boyfriend comes to the house to be met by the new boyfriend, viewers of ‘Being Mary Jane’ will know exactly what I'm talking about.

Rapper Kid Ink features on the remix of the song, and appears in the music video which is off her debut solo EP ‘Call Me Crazy, But...’

Sevyn Streeter and Kid Ink play it out extremely well throughout the music video, showing off their on-camera chemistry, watch and see for yourself below.

New Music: August Alsina - Kissin' On My Tattoos

August Alsina aka the galdem sugar has dropped some new material for us ahead of the release of his debut album ‘Testimony’.

‘Kissin' On My Tattoos’ is a sweet and romantic song that we hear Alsina profess his love for only one lady. Produced by Jasper Cameron, ‘Kissin' On My Tattoos’ along with ‘Make It Home’ featuring Young Jeezy and ‘Benediction’ will both appear on August Alsina's new album, as well as collaborations featuring Rick Ross, Fabolous and Pusha T.

‘Testimony’ hits shelves April 15. Listen to ‘Kissin' On My Tattoos’ below.

New Video: Tekno - Dance

Every time I see him or hear the name Tekno, I can't seem but to think he's a long lost member of Mindless Behaviour or is meant to be in a boy-band of some form...

Artist Tekno releases the first official music video since his signing to Iyanya's record label Triple MG. Shot in Lagos, Nigeria by director Sesan - the video to ‘Dance’ lives up to it's name. The visuals deliver with dance scenes from start to finish and we even get to see a cameos of Iyanya and Emma Nyra taking to the floor, showing some of their dance moves.

Produced by e-Kelly, ‘Dance’ is the first of many releases to come from Tekno throughout this year. Summer last year he released ‘Holiday’ featuring Davido and gave fans a taster of what's still yet to come from him.

I would've loved to see some more slick choreography from Tekno Miles in the video. Nevertheless watch the video to ‘Dance’ below.

New Music: SZA - Childs Play ft. Chance the Rapper

In case you haven't met her or you're still yet to be introduced - SZA is the newest signed artist to Kendrick Lamar's 'TDE' record label, she is unmissable, and she is the first lady!

SZA who unlike the rest in the group is not a rapper, but a singer has a very sensual and soothing voice to the ears is set to release her debut album ‘Z’ - on April 8.

Unveiling ‘Childs Play’ produced by XXYYXX, she features Chance the Rapper on the song and the pair surely do make sweet music together, as SZA takes control of the song before Chance the Rapper comes in with a rap-singing verse and they marinate their way to the end of the song together.

‘Childs Play’ is convinced to have your finger on the repeat button. Increase your volume, kick back and prepare to be wowed by the sweet vocals of SZA on ‘Childs Play’. Look out for her new album ‘Z’ out April 8.

New Music: Moelogo - The Baddest (Remix) ft. Giggs

2013 saw the release of Moelogo's self-titled EP ‘Moe is My Name, Music is My Logo’, and picking up the momentum from where he left off, 2014 sees the release of his new single ‘The Baddest’.

Produced by Moelogo's in house producer - Bayoz Muzik, the song now features UK rapper - Giggs, who has worked with Bayoz Muzik on a number of tracks that put him on the map.

Asking his competition "who is the baddest", ‘The Baddest’ tells the story of an upcoming artist, who is ready to go to war and claim his throne while replicating (being inspired by the likes of) Michael Jackson, Chris Brown and Trey Songz.

Expecting nothing less from the Hollowman, Giggs unique tone and airy feel uplifts the track which was added straight to the BBC Radio 1Xtra playlist.

Take a listen to the new number from Moelogo below, and decide for yourself if he's really ‘The Baddest’ as he claims to be...

New Music: Little Simz - The Hamptons

Just when you thought you couldn't get enough of Little Simz, the SPACE Age rapper comes flying right back to drop a little summin' for us to vibe and bubble to.

2 weeks ago saw the North London rapper take the stage at this year's SXSW festival and saw her perform for the likes of Soundcloud, Complex, Okayplayer and more, with Sango, Waldo and the Soulection and AGO family. And reading reviews from her performances over in Austin, Texas - Little Simz owned the stage - news that shouldn't be too shocking to her hardcore fans.

‘The Hamptons’ is Simz latest blessing of freshness, which she gracefully raps over the Da-P production, which was originally released in its instrumental form a few months ago as part of a white label release from Soulection.

Simz amplifies a peaceful song with her own smooth melodic-flow throughout. Stay locked for news on Little Simz debut EP which is set to be released this Spring.

Press play on this piece of audio goodness brought to you by Soulection and SoulCulture.

New Video: Tinashe - 2 On ft. ScHoolboy Q

21-year-old Los Angeles based singer Tinashe lights up our screens with this dance heavy music video to ‘2 On’. Last year was an exciting year for the former girl group band member - who dropped her mixtape ‘Black Water’ and continued the success into 2014 with her smoke something single ‘2 On’ featuring TDE rapper - ScHoolboy Q.

Opening the Hannah Lux Davis directed music video with some dance moves later moving onto some hardcore choreography with her girls ahead of a night out, Tinashe is already working on her debut album which will be released via RCA records sometime this year. And has already been in the studio with the likes of Boi-1da, Dev Hynes, T-Minus and Mike WiLL Made It.

Tinashe kept it West Coast all the way, with DJ Mustard who is behind the production of the song, and ScHoolboy Q who lays down a heavy rap verse. Even throughout the video we see Tinashe in rehearsal mode with her girls before hitting an underground club to rock the scene with her impressive fierce choreography and handles the dance floor very well. Oh, and to top it all of - there's a food fight with cake!

Turn up with Tinashe and ScHoolboy Q in the video to ‘2 On’ below - it's sure to have you moving your body.

New Video: Lady Lykez - Psycho

Not one to hold back on her songs, Lady Lykez storms back in to 2014 with a vengeance with her explosive new track ‘Psycho’. Releasing her inner psycho for the new video, expressing how love and hate are both strong passions and rather than being opposites, Lykez unveils that "I wanted to get across the roller coaster emotions of being in a relationship and crazy in love."

Following up to her 2013 tracks such as ‘I Love My Butt’ and ‘Rosa Parks’, Lykez delivery and presence on ‘Psycho’ shows she means business. And anyone that doubted Lykez's lyrical ability was swiftly silenced by her ‘Fire in the Booth’ for Charlie Sloth, Radio 1 which stopped rave reviews: http://youtu.be/yoWwfGU7gbQ

New Video: Chris Brown - Loyal ft. Lil Wayne & Tyga

Whether he's in jail, rehab or on these streets Chris Brown is a hard worker, and he's keeping the momentum going with this new dance and vibrant video for his single ‘Loyal’.

Shutting down Universal City Walk for the night, and making his way through a lit up street Breezy, Lil Wayne and Tyga all gather together in the video ‘Loyal’. Oh and trust me, I'm sure they all know of a couple unloyal "hoes". French Montana features on the original version of the song, but seems to have been replaced by Tyga - who brings a whole new verse for the music video.

Pinning the tail on the donkey with this video Chris Brown and his crew deliver with some slick choreography - which no Breezy visual would have been complete without.

Originally announced for its release on May 5, Chris Brown's ‘X’ album has been delayed, but we're loving this new video from him - so no complaints from our side. Usher, Trey Songz and Ty Dolla $ign all appear in the music video to ‘Loyal’, accompanied with some beautiful video models, a pet tiger, a man with a computerised bear head, and a dead racoon on Usher's head... Oh yes! Only in a Chris Brown video.

Dance all the unloyal "hoes" out of your life (we all know one or two) with Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and Tyga below.

Sona: New Music ‘Ijo Sona’ + New Video ‘No Wahala’

To say Sona has improved over the past couple months is beyond any doubt an understatement. Last year he got his feet wet in the Afrobeats scene and this year he is proven that he's here to stay.

This month of March Sona is coming with a triple release and has already shown that he is about his business. Last week Monday he released ‘Ijo Sona’ a heavy African influenced song which is already loved by many and has already reached over 12,000 plays on his soundcloud account. Singing fluently in Yoruba, Sona teamed up with producer OY for ‘Ijo Sona’ which means "Sona's dance", has seen Sona drawn inspiration from icons such as Shina Peters, KWAM1 and a few other respected Afro-Fuji/Afro-Juju legends in the game.

Yesterday saw the unveiling of his second anticipated release - the video to ‘No Wahala’, and compared to his last video to ‘Summertime’, a rapid improvement to say the least. The new single sees Sona highlighting his unique artistry, vocal strength and songwriting skills as he waxes lyrical about the 'pursuit of happiness' with the lady of his dreams.

2014 will bring the release of his highly anticipated debut EP, with ‘No Wahala’, ‘Ijo Sona’ and the soon-to-be-released ‘Eyy Mama’ serving as the EP’s lead singles. Enjoy the Alexx Adjei-directed music video for ‘No Wahala’ below.

Look out for ‘Eyy Mama’ out next Monday!

[Watch]: ‘Who is Seyi Shay?’ Part 2 - Style, Embarrassing Moments, Musical Journey and Inspiration!

At the beginning of this month Seyi Shay gave us an exclusive insight to who she is with part 1 of ‘Who is Seyi Shay?’

Now the beautiful Nigerian based singer talks about embarrassing moments (which I'm sure a few artists/performers can relate to), her style - which we absolutely love and how important it is for her to feel comfortable and confident when she's off stage. Radio/DJ pioneer DJ Edu even gives her an exclusive shout out when she went to visit him on BBC Radio 1Xtra during her trip to London earlier this year.

Speaking on the inspiration behind her music - Seyi Shay mentioned that she likes making people smile, feeling good, brave, invincible and that she's inspired by peoples emotions. Seyi Shay also talks about how God is the source of her strength and working with some of the biggest artists to date - including Beyoncé, Wale and many more.

"I want to be remembered for being... Different. Free, and loving life and doing exactly what I wanted to do and being successful in it!" - Seyi Shay

Just in case if you missed part 1 of ‘Who is Seyi Shay?’ it can be watched here

New Video: Lily Mckenzie - Support Machine ft. Giggs

Lily McKenzie has unveiled the video to her newest material ‘Support Machine’. The video comes fresh off the release of the track featuring rapper Giggs. Described by Clash magazine as 'sultry, soulful UK garage', Lily's currently single ‘Support Machine’ is the second track released from her debut EP of the same title, available 30 March.

Directed by Ross Anderson (SBTRKT - Trials of the Past) the video sees a number of people go through their different struggles including smoking, drinking, suicide and many more other things without having a support partner or machine to help them through.

This is a very touching video from Lily Mckenzie who actually does not appear in the video, but the lyrics to the song fit very well with the clip. Watch ‘Support Machine’ below.

Mack Wilds Performs ‘Own It’ on ‘Good Morning America’

Mack Wilds woke up the city of New York on Wednesday morning, as he took over Time Square for a special performance on ‘Good Morning America’.

Hopping off a New York sightseeing bus with four dancers, Mack Wilds rocks out with some members of the public before entering the GMA studios to continue his performance of his lead single ‘Own It’, off his Grammy nominated album ‘A New York Love Story’.

*Sidenote: Mack Wilds has definitely grown as an artist through the months. This live performance just shows his improvement, especially performing live as well!*

New Music: Keyshia Cole - Rick James ft. Juicy J

"Yeah, b-tch I'm Rick James. Slap a b-tch like Rick James, I'm Rick James!

Keyshia Cole is coming for someone's juggler on this new single of hers ‘Rick James’. Cole enlists trippy boss himself - Juicy J to feature on her new song off her forthcoming album ‘Cole World’. ‘Cole World’ will be Keyshia Cole's last album on Interscope records before and is already deciding whether to go indie or sign to another record label.

Since it got premiered on Power 105.1's ‘The Breakfast Club’ yesterday morning, there has been plenty of mixed reviews of the song - some fans are saying that "this ain't it". Keyshia Cole took a hiatus from music and returns to the scene with ‘Rick James’. The lyrics to the song where Keyshia sings "slap a b-tch like Rick James!" refers to the skit ‘Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories’ on the Dave Chapelle show with Dave Chapelle and Rick James himself.

**Personally! I really like this song, even though the message behind the song does sound like it's promoting violence. I can see it on repeat for a very long time!**

Finally what we've all been waiting for! Kicking off 2014 with her debut single ‘Throw It Down’, 21-year-old Tampa Bay rapper and model Dominique Young Unique has already graced the pages of Vogue alongside Cara Delavigne and has now revealed the video to the highly anticipated song.

Produced by DJ Fresh, Dominique owns the dance floor with her new single and in the video, released earlier this week. ‘Throw It Down’ is sure to have you pop, locking, dropping, twerking, shaking what ya momma gave you, doing the stanky leg, doing the nae nae, chicken noodle soup and all the other ratchet dance moves in just over three minutes of funk. New Video: YG - Who Do You Love ft. Drake

Last week YG dropped the video to ‘Who Do You Love’ off his debut album ‘My Krazy Life’ released today. Produced by DJ Mustard, ‘Who Do You Love’ is the third single from YG and features Drake, the song is a raw hip-hop anthem for the underground scene and for the clubs.

The song already peaked at #10 on the Billboard US Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles back when it was released in February.

‘Who Do You Love’ alongside ‘My N*gga’ and ‘Left, Right’ are all on YG's new album ‘My Krazy Life’ - who keeps the West Coast hip hop sound bubbling throughout the whole album.

New Video: Sina Rambo - Mr Icey ft. Olamide & Danagog

Already professed as one of the biggest collaborations of this year so far, rapper Sina Rambo has premiered the official visuals to his new single ‘Mr Icey’.

Featuring baddo himself - Olamide who raps his verse in Yoruba throughout, and HKN musics newly signed act - Danagog the video was shot in one of the luxury hotels in the commercial city of Lagos, directed by the ever creative - Clarence Peters.

The video to ‘Mr Icey’ reminds me somewhat of an early noughties hip-hop and R&B music video - back to the days Ja Rule was reigning the charts, and there was literally no budget for music videos.

In due time we'd get more material from the self-acclaimed Naija Boy With a Yankee Swag, but until then watch the video to ‘Mr Icey’ with cameo appearances from B_Red, K-Switch and many more!

[Stream]: Jarell Perry's ‘White’ EP

It's been a long time coming, but it's finally here. Jarell Perry has finally released his long awaited ‘White’ EP.

The past few months have seen Jarell Perry establish himself as a leader in the nu-soul movement. Today, his highly anticipated EP ‘White’, has finally arrived. ‘White’ is a dynamic, complex R&B project that accentuates Jarell’s artfully seductive vocals with ethereal soundscapes and pulsing beats, solidifying Jarell Perry as a major creative force to be reckoned with in 2014.

‘White’, available on all digital formats, puts Jarell’s artistic diversity on full display. The EP leaves no doubt that he is the same artist that won over an international following with his last release, ‘Simple Things’while still showing the bounds of artistic maturity Jarell has developed since his last record. This latest EP was entirely produced by Jarell’s constant collaborator DJ HSVN, and the creative chemistry from so many hours spent in the studio together is evident and something special to behold.

Jarell Perry recently wrapped a winter tour with Yuna, during which his opening set won over every crowd he performed in front of. The word quickly got out regarding Jarell’s prowess as a live performer, and after only a few dates the entire sell-out crowd at each stop were there at doors to make sure they didn’t miss a second of his set. Jarell will be at SXSW, and his appearance is already among the most anticipated of the festival. From there, 2014 will only get bigger for the artist as he has multiple releases planned for the year.

Jarell Perry has the talent and charisma to be one of the seminal acts of this new generation of artists carrying the torch of Soul and R&B. Stay tuned for more information on Jarell as ‘White’ makes its way to a much larger audience than Jarell has been previously recognized by.

New Video: A$AP Ferg - Let It Go

‘Let It Go’ is the opening track on A$AP Ferg's debut album ‘Trap Lord’. The self-proclaimed Trap Lord delivers a different type of music video - one that the hip-hop scene is not particularly used to. Giving us a TV show montage somewhat like a Super Mario meets Doctor Who meets The Matrix kinda flick directed by Dan The Man.

Using his powers via his rocket arms A$AP Ferg in a car pound against ninja mutants, with his clique. This video is just weird, but different. Nevertheless - check it out below.

South East London’s Scarz releases the 2nd single 'How It Used To Be' from his debut album. On this heartfelt song we see a more sensitive side of Scarz who also produced the track.

The rapper, producer and songwriter topped Channel U’s Most Requested Chart back in 2006 with anti-bullying track You Got Boyd but is now back with a bang.

The track opens fans to a another side of Scarz who reminisces on a past relationship turned sour, but he instead reflects on the positives creating an upbeat pop worthy track perfect for those who find themselves thinking about a past ex this valentines day.

The album 'Spread Love Not War' shows maturity with Scarz, who has always spoken up on social issues and used music to reach out to the youth which, frankly, is what music should be about.

It’s refreshing to hear UK grime and hip-hop with a positive message in the lyrics. Scarz accomplishes this without detracting from the album’s raw feel – featuring a mixture of eclectic flows over hard grime beats.

This is reflected in the album artwork, produced by the urban scene’s ever-popular Funny Tummy, who has also created album/mixtape covers for the likes of Angel, Tinie Tempah and Scorcher to name a few. Make sure you grab a copy of Spread Love Not War from iTunes.
